From user-friendly interfaces to quick search options, e-commerce platforms have always pushed the envelope to create great buying experiences. In addition, today’s online retail enables consumers to dive into wordless searches. Although Amazon, Pinterest, and Google Images are amongst the few notable names to have already adopted visual search, the boundaries of this technology are yet to be explored. Technology innovators are setting the stage for a major shift by amalgamating advanced image recognition with search algorithms and social network integrations. This transformation is poised to significantly impact the future of online shopping. Among the prime movers of visual search, combined with AI and machine learning, is Singapore-based Graymatics.

The company’s scalable cloud platform for deep multimedia analytics offers a wide array of image and video centric solutions for search, curation, recommendation, and security. Provisioned with exceptional features, Graymatic’s cognitive multimedia technology has been upscaling operational efficiency and productivity of e-commerce players around the globe. Abhijit Shanbhag, CEO & founder of Graymatics asserts, “As e-commerce marches towards a more consumer-centric era, the urgency of enhancing the customer and also the seller side experience is increasing. To battle the same, Graymatics has built an artificial intelligence platform for automatic real-time indexing, analysis and classification of videos and images.”
Graymatics’ robust multimedia analytics technology not only enables automatic identification of low-aesthetics catalogue images, but also helps detecting duplicate images. It also assures zero presence of objectionable content on the e-commerce platform. Another key offering of the company—API Interest Insight identifies the target audience and generates their profile of interest by analyzing photos and videos they post on social media platforms. This helps in performing personalized targeting through relevant contextual advertisements, which lead to better click-through and conversion rates. On the other hand, ContextConnect and Tubescan API convert images and videos into actionable text by generating e-commerce product links within videos.

AddYield, helps in selecting appropriate banner ads or videos that match the consumers’ preferences. Moreover, their ImageAssurance is capable of identifying the presence of objectionable content in the posted images or videos in a marketplace where the sellers post content in an unregulated manner.

Shanbhag believes, “In today’s dynamic e-commerce space, consumers demand the convenience to search, discover, and shop for targeted products instantaneously and receive highly personalized recommendations.” To equip e-tailers with advanced solutions to facilitate the consumers with these capabilities, the Graymatics platform harnesses intuitive machine learning technology and deeply analyzes the distinct visual features of each product within an image or video. The platform autonomously creates detailed visual attribute metadata for the products from product images and videos, resulting in an enriched end-user search experience. It also offers comprehensive visual catalogue management and improved inventory management experience for sellers. To be precise, the Graymatics platform efficiently channels customers to personally tailored products using contents that inspire them and consequently surfacing the profound aspects of visual indexing.

Major retail organizations across India, Indonesia, Singapore, the U.S., and Middle-East have majorly benefitted by integrating Graymatics’ AI algorithms into their e-commerce platform to automate and enhance the customer experience. In Shanbhag’s words, “With the advent of immerging e-commerce sites across the globe, the challenges faced by them are escalating at even higher pace.” Considering this, Graymatics strives to empower industries around the globe with advanced multimedia analytics technology and ease the shopping experience of end customers.
