With the progression of analytics, computing, and mobile business, e-commerce has taken a large impact. Contuining the success of your business means analyzing and reacting quickly and effectively.

    Reporting and analytics have become more robust than ever before. e-commerce has become diversified and more complex (yet easier to manage,) and core operations rely more than before on new technology. Reporting and analytics are more versatile and change more frequently. Core operations are now mutli-faceted.

    Several years ago, big data and analytics were not nearly as crucial as they are today. Now, they play a pivotal role in in-store experience for e-commerce. In-store experience is augmented and more engaging because of the impact of big data and analytics.

    Role of CIO’s

    My role as CIO has changed largely based on the increase in demands from the market. Technology has improved and added a layer of complexity and diversification, and I have adapted accordingly. This varies greatly industry by industry.

    Focus on the product, rely on quantitative feedback, and iterate frequently. Rely on data, and make sure that you are getting the right data.

    E-commerce is now intertwined with the IoT. They function as a unit in many cases. e-commerce uses the internet of things to capture and manipulate the right data.
